2009

CHAPS Championships 09
Country Top Dollar won the performance horse Championship for the 4th year running. We had a good show with Top Dollar & Lone Ranger getting 5 x firsts 1 x 2nd 1 x Championship & 3 x reserves. Apollo II also had a super show taking the Native,Traditional.Cob Ridden horse Championship
Country Top Dollar has qualified HOYS wining the plaited horse section at Denbigh and Flint Show last week, this means the stud will have 2 stallions there this year!
Springhill's Bally Sensation  has had his first foal & what a stunner she is picture to follow shortly at the bottom of the page.
There is also a new plain stallion with us at the moment who we hope to be standing next year, Farbenfroh has fantastic blood lines ,( For pleasure, Furioso, Grannus & Landgraf) & he definitely has the paces & jump to go with them. He has been out of the ring for a year due to no jockey but one of the  pictures below shows him at his 2nd show back as well as one of him moving.  Anyone wanting to get a late covering in for this year contact me about using him.

Congratulations to Tarnbrook Tickled Pink 2 year old filly by Spotswood jafieca who gained a First Premium at Myerscough BEF Evaluations last week.
Some of you may already of heard rumors about the new kid on the block, our Top Gun yearling colt Coded Country Gent, well he went to Cartmel, only his 2nd show  & not only won a very strong open nonstick class but also went on to take the Coloured Championship beating the ridden horse!
Top Dollar took Champion Coloured at Skelton Show & Lone Ranger was third in the open Show Jumping Class.
Top Dollar won his class at Royal Lancs again for the 3rd year, however he had to settle for Reserve Champion as he decided to jump a muddy patch in his gallop ! Lets face it when you're talented why go through the mud when you can jump it, I couldn't really argue with his logic!!!!
Congratulations to Apollo II who qualified HOYS at North of England show last Saturday
I can't believe it's July already where has the year gone? In a whirl of mares & shows!
Top Dollar is on form again winning Cheshire County for the 2nd year running as well as taking Champion at Skelton & coming 2nd at Great Yorkshire.
Lone Ranger has been out jumping all over with some very good placings & wins.
I know lots of you have been wining both coloured & sports Horse young stock classes, I haven't got time to list you all now but keep up the good work you must all be fitter than me to run round those rings!
Dec 08 Country Lone Ranger qualifies for the Blue Chip Winter Championships in the B&C class.
Westmorland County Top Dollar finished the season by once again winning  the ridden coloured horse class making a total of 4 County show wins this season
CHAPS Championships were again a good show for us with 3 Championships & a Reserve Champion. Top Dollar was once again Dressage Champion & Performance Champion & Reserve Combined Training Champion having won his section. Country Lone Ranger was presented with his Performance Elite Grading for his Show jumping winnings.
B.S.P.A. Championships :- We had a very successful show with Top Dollar & Lone Ranger receiving their Performance Elite Status, Top Dollar for his BD points & Lone Ranger for his BSJA Grade B. Also our 4 yr old son of Lone Ranger won the Novice W.H just to prove he is a chip of the old block!! Top gun was awarded Premier Elite Grading, one of only 2 coloured stallions to achieve this highest grading status. So we now have 3 of the 7 Performance Elite graded stallions in the UK & 1 of only 2 Premier Elite, but the only Performance Premier Elite as the other one is Showing premier Elite. Just to show that here you really can get colour without having to forfeit performance!!!
Aug 08
Country Lone Ranger is now Grade B
Top Dollar wins again this time at Cartmell, although he couldn't be presented with his Championship as someone complained he was a stallion & there was a mis print in the schedule which said Mare or gelding & the judge had to judge as per schedule!!! However the show got better as Lone Ranger won the Open jumping to add to his very good placings at RIHS, Chester & Garstang in very good company.
Congratulations to Alison Croft & Tickled Pink yearling filly by Spotswood Jafieca who was awarded a 1st premium at the BEF evaluations in the Sports pony section.
July 08
Top Dollar continues his winning performance this time winning Royal Lancs Ridden coloured,2nd at the Royal Highland & 6th at the RIHS in the Ridden Coloured Championship.
Congratulations to Rachel Cowburn & Alderwood Hot Shot, her 3yr old by Country Marksman who took Champion Coloured in hand & Reserve Champion In hand Sports Horse.
June 2008
We are even busier than ever with mares coming & going all the time, & we are getting even better than our usually good fertility rates, but we are still finding time to compete!

Country Top Dollar continues his winning form round the County shows again winning the Ridden Coloured this time at Cheshire County getting next years RIHS ticket. Lone Ranger was also at Cheshire jumping he was a credible 6th in the open on Thursday.

May 2008
Country Top Dollar is to be presented with his Performance Elite Grading by the BSPA at their Championships in August for his Dressage achievements & Country Top Gun is to get a special Progeny Elite for outstanding the performance & showing record of his stock. He now has 4 graded sons with one Elite graded & I believe he is the only Performance Elite Graded stallion to have a Performance Elite graded son so we must be doing something right!!!
Top Dollar, Marksman & Lone Ranger are all off to RIHS again with all three qualifying for the Ridden Coloured Championships & Lone Ranger will then spend the rest of the week down there Show Jumping.
Top Dollar won the Ridden coloured non native at Staffordshire County & was Reserve Champion & Marksman was 2nd in the Native & Cob class so another good day. One of Lone Rangers sons Country Loneson, the first of his 4 year olds, is going from strength to strength, having inherited all of his fathers ability & work ethic he was placed in a very large WYEH at Hamleton show which was his first show outdoors.
November 2007

We've just finished another bumper stud season, they just keep getting busier! Despite being so busy we have maintained our extremely high fertility rates, once again we achieved over 95% fertility on offsite chilled semen A.I and many of the stallions achieving 100% fertility with either A.I or natural service.
Despite being this busy the stallions as usual have been busy competing (so don't let anyone tell you their stallions don't compete because they are too busy!).
Country Top Dollar took the Central Prefix Award at the CHAPS Championships for the Horse with a registered prefix who gained the most points over the show on winnings. As we both own him & bred him the stud got both the Owners & Breeders awards.
Our Stallions swept the board at the CHAPS Championships, between them they won every performance related class they went in & most of the Championships as well as many showing classes our results were:-
Country Lone Ranger won both his Style & Performance classes as well as both of the Performance Championships on the first day and he won the Ridden Hunter Class on the last day
Country Top Dollar won all 3 of his Dressage tests & took the Novice & Elementary Championships on the first day. he was 2nd in hand Riding Horse & was 4th in the Evening Ridden Championship on the second day. He won the Potential Performance horse Class, the Grennes Ridden Class & was 2nd in the Riding Horse class as well as taking the Performance Championship & Reserve Ridden Championship on the last day. He also gained the highest ride mark of the show 49/50 in the HOYS class.
Spotwood Jafieca also won his Style & Performance class & was 3rd in the Open Show Jumping on the only day he competed.
Northern Kiss The Dancer Our 2 yr old colt at his 1st ever show won the Open 13hh In hand Show Hunter Pony class.
we didn't have time to take any foals but some of you did & four of our foals qualified for the Foal Futurity Final on the Friday evening.
Our success carried on for the following two weeks when at Arkenfield BD Ontario won the Elementary Class & County Top Dollar was 2nd, then Top Dollar won the Medium & Ontario was 2nd !
As a fitting end to a very successful season Country Top Dollar won the Ridden Coloured Horse Class & the Coloured Championship at Westmorland County
Both Top Dollar & Lone Ranger already have next years RIHS qualifications
Country Top Dollar & Ontario have had a very successful season in the Dressage Arena. Ontario has taken to his new profession like a duck to water & has gained over 100 BD points in less than a year.
Country Top Dollar now also has over 100 BD points with wins at both Elementary & Medium.
Country Lone Ranger has been Show Jumping along with his showing but unfortunately this summer's weather canceled most of the Show Jumping so we will have to catch up this winter.
Spotswood Jafieca now has a new junior rider so he can start competing BSJA again. A big thank you to his old rider Carla Gebhard who rode him for the last time with great success at CHAPS Championships but is now too old (at 16 !) to show jump him.
At the RIHS Ridden Coloured Championships there were a total of 7 horses by Country Stallions with Top Gun having 4 sons & daughters & 2 grandchildren (by Marksman) there!
Country Marksman has missed most of this season due to a sprained fetlock which he did (wait for it!) not jumping or going cross country or anything even remotely dangerous, he slipped off his banking in his stable whilst talking to his dad over the wall !!!! Can you believe it & as he needed to keep coming out to serve it has taken longer to heal as he kept aggravating it but he is back in work &sound now, with no banking in his stable!
We now have a new chap on the stallion block, Northern Kiss the Dancer made a very successful debut at CHAPS Championships. he will mature at 12hh so now whatever the size we really can cover it !
